- Navigate to the device in NinjaOne using one of these methods.
- Search for the device from the dashboard search bar by typing the device name.
- Alternatively, click Dashboard, select the organization, and navigate to the device from there.
- Alternatively, click Devices and select the device from the device list.
- Open the device so you land on the device dashboard.
- Check the device uptime on the device screen to see if it likely needs a reboot.

- Review memory utilization on the device dashboard to see if usage is unusually high.
- If rebooting is the next step, hover over the play icon on the device page.
- Select Reboot and choose Reboot Now.
- Confirm the reboot prompt to initiate the reboot.
- Watch the Activities area to confirm the action completed and the reboot was successful.
- Wait for the device to come back online.
- Once it’s online, confirm with the user whether performance improved.
- If it’s still slow, check disk drive space from the device dashboard.
- If disk space is full, hover over the play icon again.
- Go to Automation and run the native Windows Cleanup option/script.
- Confirm the activity shows Windows Cleanup was triggered and allow it to run.
- If the issue still isn’t resolved, check the Health Issues section on the device page.
- Look for indicators like pending patches, vulnerabilities, or antivirus threats that may be contributing to slowness.
- If those items appear, document them in your notes as part of troubleshooting.
- Escalate to Tier 2 if reboot + cleanup didn’t resolve the issue and health issues suggest patching, vulnerability, or AV concerns.
- Use this workflow as a Tier 1 approach to troubleshoot common performance issues in NinjaOne without needing to remote in.
