Organized device groups are the key to scalable automation, cleaner reporting, and smoother day-to-day management in NinjaRMM. Watch now and tighten up your NinjaRMM environment!
Step by Step:
- Click the Devices tab on the left-hand side of Ninja RMM.
- Select Load Group in the top-right corner to view any existing device groups in your environment.
- Click More Filters to begin creating a new device group.
- Add the first filter by searching for OS Type and selecting Windows.
- Add another filter by searching for Uptime.
- Set the uptime value to 7, select Days, and click Apply.
- Review the filtered device list to confirm only Windows devices with seven or more days of uptime are shown.
- Open one of the listed devices to verify the uptime value and confirm the filter is working as expected.
- Click Save Group to create the new device group.
- Enter a group name, such as Windows devices with uptime of 7 days.
- Add a description explaining the purpose of the group, for example that these devices may need a reboot soon.
- Leave the permission type set to default unless your environment requires a different option.
- Click Save to create the group.
- Return to the Devices tab and click Load Group again to locate the newly created group.
- Select the new group to load it and view the dynamically filtered list of matching devices.
- Use device groups like this to dynamically organize endpoints using as many or as few filters as needed.
- Rely on device groups to automatically update based on filter criteria and help technicians focus on relevant, actionable work.
