The LabTech Server Offline monitor is one of the most important monitors in LabTech. It allows your technicians to receive an alert when a client’s server goes offline. It is also a very complex monitor and takes some review to understand how it works and properly configure it. To start, you should make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the monitor by opening the Solution Center from the LabTech Server and checking for an available update.
Once you have the most up-to-date version of the monitor installed, you should review its configuration. This monitor works differently than your typical internal monitor, having multiple layers of configuration. This monitor is configured in three parts:
The monitor itself – Set to use the template ~Autofix Action Server Offline Script on the appropriate group.

The dashboard (Ignite) – Dashboard – Config – Integrations – Ignite – Default Settings. This is where the Offline Agent Alert Template ID is set. This is where you configure what template to use for alerting when a server is detected as offline by the Autofix action that runs a script. You can also configure an Offline Agent Email Address which will send an alert email before the script is run to verify the server is actually offline. Configuring this could generate false alerts, so proceed with caution.

The dashboard (Template) – Dashboard – Management – Alert Templates. This is the template (default 32) which triggers alerting. Configure the alert actions you would like to receive here.

Ensuring these three requirements are met, you should successfully receive offline server alerts. While this monitor is more complicated to configure, it provides valuable information and can increase the response time of your service team to resolve server failures.
