The introduction of Cooper Bots in Datto RMM, under Kaseya’s innovative vision, is not just a step into the future of IT management; it’s a giant leap. This journey began back in 2021 with the launch of the Cooper AI Engine, a groundbreaking venture for Kaseya. The first fruit of this endeavor, Cooper Insights, set a high bar by becoming an integral and widely used part of the IT Complete platform, with users implementing a notable 40% of its suggestions.
Building upon this foundation, Kaseya announced the upcoming release of Cooper Bots at DattoCon, showcasing a new era of intelligent automation. These bots are designed to tackle a significant challenge in the MSP world: the disproportionate amount of time spent on repetitive tasks. Cooper Bots aim to optimize this scenario in Datto RMM by automating tasks that, while necessary, don’t necessarily require human intervention.
As we approach the end of the year, Cooper Bots are gearing up to take on a series of crucial operations in Datto RMM. They will automate tasks such as password rotation, simplifying the often cumbersome process of maintaining security protocols. The bots will streamline both onboarding and offboarding of end users, ensuring a seamless transition process for both incoming and departing team members.
Additionally, Cooper Bots will manage the complex tasks of blacklisting/whitelisting endpoints and conducting internet connectivity analysis, which are vital for maintaining network security and efficiency. Datto RMM recently integrated with Microsoft 365, and moving forward these items will fall within their purview. Cooper Bots managing end user contacts, as well as assigning and unassigning Microsoft 365 licensing, will significantly reduce the administrative load on IT staff.
Looking into early next year, the roadmap for Cooper Bots on Datto RMM includes the automation of network configuration tasks, further simplifying the management of active directory groups. They will also facilitate the addition and removal of users in client portals, a task that, while small, can accumulate significant time for IT teams.
A standout feature of Cooper Bots is their user-friendly design. Kaseya takes the lead in developing these bots, allowing MSPs to focus on customizing them according to their specific needs. This user-centric approach is further enhanced by the option for human oversight, allowing MSPs to review and approve bot actions before implementation in Datto RMM.
Cooper Bots, offered as a free feature within the IT Complete suite, symbolize Kaseya’s commitment to providing accessible and efficient AI-driven solutions. They represent a significant shift in how MSPs will interact with Datto RMM, promising not only to streamline operations but also to open up new avenues for strategic business growth.
