ConnectWise Automate allows plugins to be added to provide additional functionality. These plugins and updates come via the Solution Center, which is similar to an app store. However, everything is available for free pending some plugins that require a vendor’s product to function. ConnectWise releases updates on the Solution Center weekly on Wednesday and it’s important to run these updates regularly.
Also available through the Solution Center are updates to Automate including dataviews, scripts, monitors, and reports. Keeping these items updated is important, as performing regular Automate patch installs and upgrades does not upgrade these. To upgrade or install an item from the Solution Center, hover over its icon and choose “Queue”.
Once you have selected all the items you are interested in, click the “Solution in Queue” line in the top left-hand corner. This will take you to the final window listing out what updates you have selected. Click the “Install\Update” button and be sure to check the box to perform a local database backup before continuing. When running updates from the Solution Center, it’s best to ensure that no technicians are currently using Automate.
ConnectWise posts the release notes of the updated Solution Center items each week online. To access the release notes, click here.
